Kitscoty Community Cabin 4 Kids began it's humble beginnings more than 5 years ago, with a group of people ready to better our community with a facility to house a daycare, after school program and community groups. By previously hosting yearly slow pitch ball tournaments, lobster fest dinners and a number of small fundraisers the efforts of the Cabin were acknowledged in 2010 with a day care modular from Alberta Infrastructure. The only modular awarded in the province that year.

Cabin 4 Kids is located on the Buffalo Trails School Division property when our doors opened in August 2011. We are able to provide care for approximately 16 children. In 2012 the plans of an addition to house the after school program and the, already established, Kitscoty Rugrats Playschool, was able to become a reality.  Through a government grant and community support our addition arrived September 2012.  KCCK was very excited to open its doors for an Out of School Care program November 2012.

Our Philosophy

Cabin 4 Kids programs emphasize child-initiated learning within our community. Our programs nurture and support the development of children throughout the day by providing:
  • Developmentally appropriate experiences
  • Respect and love for each child
  • A program that addresses each child’s need for fun, creativity, active play, communication skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills, cognitive growth, social interaction, rest, and nutrition.
  • Appreciating and supporting the family unit.

We recognize children as individuals and support each child in his or her unique developmental needs.

Our Mission

Our commitment is to provide a developmentally appropriate early childhood program in which families can find support and nurturing in a safe environment. We strive to exceed the standards of early childhood excellence and encourage lifelong learning.
