Kitscoty Community Cabin 4 Kids began it's humble beginnings more than 10 years ago, with a group of people ready to better our community with a facility to house a daycare, after school program and community groups. By previously hosting yearly slow pitch ball tournaments, lobster fest dinners and a number of small fundraisers the efforts of the Cabin were acknowledged in 2010 with a day care modular from Alberta Infrastructure. The only modular awarded in the province that year.

Cabin 4 Kids is located on the Buffalo Trails School Division property when our doors opened in August 2011. We are able to provide care for approximately 40 children. In 2012, through a government grant and community support a second portable classroom arrived.  KCCK was very excited to open its doors for an Out of School Care program November 2012.

Our Philosophy

Cabin 4 Kids programs emphasize child-initiated learning within our community. Our programs nurture and support the development of children throughout the day by providing:
  • Developmentally appropriate experiences
  • Respect and love for each child
  • A program that addresses each child’s need for fun, creativity, active play, communication skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills, cognitive growth, social interaction, rest, and nutrition.
  • Appreciating and supporting the family unit.

We recognize children as individuals and support each child in his or her unique developmental needs.

Our Mission

Our commitment is to provide a developmentally appropriate early childhood program in which families can find support and nurturing in a safe environment. We strive to exceed the standards of early childhood excellence and encourage lifelong learning.
